I wish I was your fridge
So I could be magnetic
I’d hold the thick magnets you got from your trip to Nasa
I’d squeeze your save the dates/
photographs,
business cards
Because I’m helpful like that
I make an effort
to keep up with people
write down their birthdays and
send out cards
I wish I was your fridge so you could open me anytime.
When hungry/or browsing for a snack during your mindless eating
So come
stare the florescent lights when I’m propped open
Come get crispy// in My crisper
But try, try to refrain from wilting next to my carrots and celery
Come grab my apples, my pink ladies
and then take out Mrs. Laura Scutters natural peanut butter,
the peanut butter with the oil separation on top--
and stir me up
carefully
make sure you get all the way down to the bottom
without sloshing oil over the sides
But you can’t///can you?
You can’t stir me up
And You can’t Grab my apples
But I can still be Magnetic /
for you
When Lurea Cort meets you for the first time, you will probably think she’s a reporter due to her obsessive questioning. However, lately she’s been into searching out obscure facts. She lives in Austin, Texas with her three banana slugs.
