Mist BY ROBERT BEVERIDGE

we walked

through the dawn

your fingers twined in mine

grass caressed

your muscled thighs

you lay

your head on my shoulder

and I kissed your temple

that was enough

the mist, the grass

made pillows for our clothes

your hands upon my shoulders

urge me down farther

entreat my tongue to enter

the center depths of you

your thighs against my lips

fresh taste of morning dew

mingles with the oils

your body tempts me with

fluid pull of muscle

draws me in

fingers press, explore

enter, tongue

and lips slip

over clitoris, caress

and moisten more.

I reach up

find your fingers

with my other hand

entwine them once again

as your cries startle

the sparrows in a nearby tree

fingers, muscles clench

and squeeze

sweet syrup licked

from questing fingers

hold me closer, love, rest

in the mist of morning,

of delight.
